I didn't know Byran but I knew his father Bob and also Ed Howlett. I just happened to come across this and registered so I could leave a reply.
From what little I've read Bryan must have had a lot of potential in the rodeo industry.
My heart goes out to Bob and his family.

We lost a great young talent this week and his passing will be a great loss to the sport of Bullfighting. Bryan Howlett was an outstanding young Bullfighter that just recently graduated from the TwoBulls Academy with a very bright future. Our prayers and thoughts go with Bryan and his family as he will be remembered as a shining star by all who came to know him.
If you knew Bryan and would like to contact his family they can be reached at:

Bryan Roper Howlett, 17, of Ignacio, Colo., passed away at his home Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, as the result of an accident. Bryan was born in Durango, Colo., on March 22, 1990, to Bob and Tracey (Pennington) Howlett.
Bryan was attending the Reach Program in Bayfield, Colo., and expected to graduate this year and pursue his dream of being a rodeo bullfighter. He had just received his Professional Bullfighters Certification in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Bryan grew up in the area with friends in the Beaver Creek 4-H Club, Bayfield baseball teams, and as a member of the youth group at Pine Valley Four Square Church and Bayfield Pee Wee through high school wrestling teams. Bryan was an awesome artist, and expressed his personality and sense of humor in a way that will always be cherished.
Bryan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Howlett.
He is survived by his mother and father; his brother, Justin of the family home; his grandparents,
Jean Howlett of Bayfield, Shirley and Larry Pennington of Farmington, and Jerry Cox of Tucson, Ariz.; Aunt Peggy and uncle Eric Copeland and family, Aunt Jennie Howlett, Uncle Jim Howlett, Uncle Ed, Aunt Hanne Howlett and family, Aunt Dawn, Uncle Gary Cox and family, aunt Stacey and Randy Juckes and Makayla, Aunt Nikki Pennington, and aunt Destre Biemond; and many friends and rodeo buddies around the country.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who loved him.
Cremation has taken place and Bryan's ashes will be scattered at a later date in the mountains he loved so much.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Ignacio Events Center in Ignacio, followed by a potluck dinner.
A "Bryan Howlett Memorial Fund" has been established and donations may be made at any First National Bank of Durango.
